Today in class
our teacher taught us
about poetry.
First, she taught us about similes.
It was as boring as a dead leaf.
I did not get it at all.
Then, she taught us about alliteration.
My pink and purple pen and pencil
were not writing any ideas.
So I just gave up!
Next, she taught us about metaphors.
It was an old, boring snail.
I did not understand my teacher at all!
Finally, our teacher taught us about idioms.
It was raining cats and dogs outside
and I couldn’t concentrate
so I just listened to my teacher.
But I still didn’t get it.
After our teacher’s lesson
I only understood one thing:
Poetry is definitely not for me!
