Gazinnia

There is a flower
That grows through a rock
Near the fence in my backyard.

It hardly gets food—
It barely gets water—
Yet it stays there all the same.

If I were that flower
I’d want to move
As fast as my roots might carry—

But that stalwart flower
Seems to like that rock spot
(never mind the hardships).

Be that plant.
