Live Now
One day I will be magnificent,
one day I will rise,
one day I will awaken light in dark places.
WAIT! What am I waiting for,
am I waiting for my one day
to turn into two days, then three,
then four until I have no more.
Will I continue to put my today
in tomorrow’s hands.
My one day is today, to do, to be, to go.
I will not wait for my clouds to clear,
I will not wait for the pass of fear
I choose to live now.
I may lose friends and even family
but that will not exceed
all that I will gain and the lives
that I will positively change
from following the beautiful melodies
of my destiny.
Today I will be magnificent
Today I will rise
Today I will light up the darkness.
If I continue to wait
for just that perfect time
the result will be countless
opportunities missed,time wasted
adorned with a long sorrowful list
of shoulda, coulda, wouldas.
All I have is today and a choice,
to either live my one life roped off
with caution tape or to live adventurously, courageously, hopefully
and in harmony with nature.
There is a dream in me
a dream that will live in the NOW.
