My Grandpa's Memories

Think of a flower just been planted. A Island far away, Trinidad was where my grandfather lived.
Born to a caring family a father who planted sugar cane
A loving father, life so perfect life so beautiful then death came
Along an evil fact of life and took away his father who was respected and loved
Sorrow came pain came but all had to be pushed through to stay alive
Lives were turned around the farm was sold along with their hearts
His mother had to work, my grandfather loyal and caring went to work as a carpenter.
War came, awful as it was, it came it brought sadness to many
But to my grandfather and his family it helped them instead of hurt.
First, a water boy, then then a distributor of food and a truck driver. Life got better.
After the war he continued his goal to help his family out and pursued many jobs.
Change appeared he almost ran over a lady who would one day be my grandmother
And his life was changed forever in this on instance.
An event altered his life, my grandmother got a job in the US
My grandfather left my mother and went with my grandmother.
The flower desperately tries to grow but is knocked down.
Those first years were difficult in an exotic new place my grandfather had a tough time finding a job  He worked as a janitor and knew that life would get better there was hope.
He soon sent for his daughters and they came to the US.
Life was difficult and times were tough but there was hope it was like a flower right out of winter peeking its small bud out of the ground.
My grandfather toiled hard in a foreign place and persevered  He worked hard so his daughters could have a better life.
His dream came true he was able to send them to a good school.
There was hope and little by little that flower is blossoming and beginning to grow.
Then came me, new life.
The flower grew  beautifully and persevered through hardships.
